Jennifer Beard has served as Assistant Director of Ohio State University's women's policy office, the Women's Place, since 2008. She is jointly responsible for the development and implementation of initiatives that expand opportunities for women faculty & staff at OSU. Jennifer collaborates with university leaders, academic departments and support units throughout the institution to provide a critical gender analysis of policies and practices that impact the progress of women. In pursuit of the goal of transforming the culture and removing institutional barriers for women at OSU, she leads various initiatives including women's leadership development and programs for non-traditional women students. Her twenty year career in serving women and children has included clinical research, health promotions, and policy advocacy.
Jennifer is past chair of the National Black Women's Health Project, Columbus affiliate, a member of the National Women's Studies Association, The Institute on Women and several other boards and organizations. Both her professional work and community activism revolve around supporting women to reach their full potential.
