It is helpful for educators to focus on small changes to their teaching that can yield big results for student success. Rita Kumar, Ph.D., executive director of the Faculty Enrichment Center at the University of Cincinnati, and Brenda Refaei, Ed.D., director of the Learning + Teaching Center, UC Blue Ash, suggest that faculty need to start with the process of self-reflection to engage in inclusive teaching, create inclusive curricula and implement inclusive pedagogy. In this interactive session, they offer instructors the opportunity to reflect on what is needed to adopt pedagogies, curricula and assessment processes to become a more inclusive practitioner.
Kent State University Center for Teaching and Learning invites those seeking an Inclusive Teaching Endorsement to attend its Anti-Bias Workhops. For more information and registration links to sessions in the series, visit the OCTC events page.
